Our Mission Statement:

We want to give evey pupil a voice and give our full support to any pupils who have concerns of any kind. We want to make changes that make our school even better. We will set ourselves new targets and work hard to achieve them. We hope to create a safe and healthy learning environment.

January 2020

Welcome back to everyone. We hope that you all had a lovely Christmas.

Thank you to everyone who helped us reduce waste by recycling Christmas Cards and also donating gift bags to be re-used.

**WE NEED YOUR STAMPS - - - Please save any stamps that are from mailed envolopes and send in to school, we have teamed up with Cancer Research Bacup branch to help them collect stamps to help with their funds. Thank you.

We are a Bronze and Silver accredited Eco-School.

We have recently updated our Environmental review and it has shown us many areas for improvement.

One of the first things that was on our agenda in September was "HEALTHY SNACKS IN SCHOOL"

Children have become more aware of healthy eating at playtimes due to Eco-School Council members making posters, information being on school newsletters and more children encouraged to buy snacks from the school kitchen at break.

We have also launched a new recycling programme with Terracycle.

We are collecting any toothpaste related items at the recycling point.

Please see website for more information: https://www.terracycle.com/en-GB/brigades/colgate-uk

WHAT HAVE WE BEEN DOING?

JUMBLE SALE - February 2020 - Thank you to everyone who helped organise this event and also to everyone who donated items and bought things on the night. We have raised a super £60 for our Eco-School Council funds.

CHRISTMAS CARD RECYCLING/GIFT BAG REUSING - what an amazing collection of cards brought in for us to save for next year to make Christmas crafts with and also the part not used were recycled. Lots of gift bags brought in also that will help keep costs down at the Mothers Day Gift service with our PTFA in March.

SUITCASE SALE - During the Christmas Fair, Class 4 was the base for children to sell their wares from a suitcase. Children paid £2.00 each for their "pitch". Eco-School Council raised £24 from this.

ENVIRONMENTAL WEEK - Monday 7th October - Friday 11th October 2019. Throughout this week the whole school  lookined at various issues that have a negative impact on our planet and what we can do about them - "There is no planet B".
